Junior International Cricket
Chile first competed at U15 level when they received a visit from neighbouring Argentina in March 2003. They compete regularly in the U15 South American Championship, which is now in its 4th edition. Given Chile’s success at the 2008 tournament, the squad is now preparing to participate in the ICC Americas Regional U15 Tournament in 2009.
The U13 national team was set up in 2004 and plays in the U13 South American Championship, last held in Chile in 2006 and set to be staged in Curitiba, Brazil in July 2009.
Based around the U17 side which successfully defeated the Falkland Islands in 2006, the U19 national team began training in 2008 in preparation for a second visit by the islanders in April 2009, as well as the ICC Americas Regional U19 Tournament in winter 2009.
